Earthlinks UK / Earthlinks India : East-West Projects

Earthlinks is working with the growing need across the world to connect grassroots level projects.

Traditional Western approaches can often seek solutions in science and through imposed hierarchical structures.  Traditional Eastern approaches seek solutions in ancient values represented in community, participative approaches, and shared leadership.

Earthlinks and its projects are drawing upon the best from these two traditions, to provide significant and measurable development benefits to communities on both sides of the globe.

Earthlinks has set up a Charitable Trust that is facilitating links between projects in India and  projects in the UK .

The work of these projects cover:

*   Environmental Awareness, Learning and Action

*   Holistic Alternative Education Programmes (in coordination  with Schumacher College, UK)

*   Making carbon ‘visible’ to highlight Climate Change and Global Warming

*   Renewable Energy

*   Land Conservation

*   Waste Management and Recycling

*   Spiritual Dialogue, Enquiry and Practice  (initial discussions have happened)

*   Community Economic Development and Empowerment linked with self- generation of funds through Wind Energy) See below.

*   Women’s Empowerment

*   Eco Leisure

*   Organic Farming and Eco Tourism

We connect innovative projects for mutual benefit. We facilitate cross -cultural exchanges of work, people and ideas, thereby creating a network of empathetic organizations across the globe.
