Work Experience (over 23 years):

 

 

·         After a period as a management trainee, she joined middle management in Canon and later Xerox working in the Sales and Marketing department. She also provided design and delivery of company-wide Training Programs in the same field, before starting up the first of two businesses.

• Tomorrow File Executive Search 1994-1997 a company working on behalf of both individual clients and firms to place people at all levels in private and public companies.
• Escape Aways Travel Planners, established in 1997, employing 7 people, organizing company-wide business travel arrangements. Holding and managing conferences. Customizing travel itineraries for visitors to India.

Both companies were profitable, well respected and known for their exceptional ethical standards.

·         She also offered consultancy services to start-ups and ailing business and made them successful.

• Building on her networking skills and using her connections, Minni has taken up the challenge to offer leadership in the field of environmental awareness and social spiritual regeneration.

 

Relevant Social and Community Experience

 

·         Visit in Oct 2007 to assess suitability of community projects of SCAD www.scadindia.org  for partnering with the Converging World – an NGO based in Bristol (UK)– www.theconvergingworld.org. This is a current task to find suitable projects in India to be financed from the income generated by  alternative energy schemes set up in India and funded by The Converging World.

·         Advising Jambudvipa www.jambudvipa.org -another social organization that is based in India and works on empowering the Dalit (Untouchable) Community, on partnerships with western projects and communities. This is an ongoing assignment.

·         Establishing Earthlinks as a Facilitator of Projects that provide tangible exchange benefits for the West and the East.

·         Advising and planning a suitable framework for a learning Institute in Western India – based on environmental and Spiritual and Healing themes.

·         Her network of contacts with Government and Social Organisations in India has been built over many decades. This network is strengthened with connections in the Corporate and Environmental sector across the world

·         One of the goals of Earthlinks is Women’s Empowerment This is a recurring theme from the personal and pioneering experience of breaking many social taboos that exist for women in India.

·         Worked with the domestic workers within her local region – women household help and other domestic help ( cleaners, cooks, washer-men and women and  drivers to name a few categories ) – to enable them to gain fair wages for their work as well as fair treatment from their employers.

• Worker empowerment within organizations and the corporate sector has been a constant priority in her life and work – starting with the various organizations she set up and managed – as well as the organizations she worked with.

• She started an organic food outlet for farmers in Maharashtra during a time when there was little awareness for bringing them together in a network and giving them fair prices which would be comparable with non – organic products.

• She was associated with a drug rehabilitation and AIDs center in New Delhi – This involved visiting the prisons as well as the brothels in their projects in North East India, investigating the high incidence of drug users there and suggesting long term precautionary and preventive measures.

·         For many years she was an Associate of SWINDA – helping organize groups of young social work students coming from Sweden to volunteer in various  social organizations in India.

·         Initiated and organized many tree-planting and maintenance projects with youth groups in Pune/India.

·         Volunteered for a while in the oldest ORGANIC MARKET GARDEN in Cheshire to learn the basics of organic gardening.
